Absolutely dismal experience. Never go to the Chula Vista Black Angus. The hostess stand seemed to be chaotic when we arrived; the older lady was harping on the other hostesses, who seemed confused about where they should seat guests. Once we were seated and ordered, it took our party of 2 an HOUR to receive our entrees. This would have been fine had our server, Katrina, come by to let us know the kitchen was behind or something. Instead, she just let us wait with empty glasses and bread and appetizer plates left all over the table, visiting other tables, until I finally flagged her down and asked for drink refills, at which point she told us our food "would be right out." I asked for no lettuce in the shrimp cocktail cup (due to the risk of Cyclospora); the shrimp were served on a cup full of lettuce. The shrimp were basically room temperature, too. Black Angus Steakhouse in Chula Vista was a MASSIVE disappointment. The place was dead at our reservation for 8pm. It took about 20 minutes just for our server to introduce herself, and she was barely around the rest of the meal. The food was bland across the board, and the bread was soggy and doughy in the middle. The restaurant/ booth was dirty and dusty, which didn’t help the experience. For the prices they charge, the quality was nowhere near acceptable—it felt like overpriced cafeteria food. Easily the lowest point of our trip. Local or not I would avoid this place.

I went to Black Angus for my Big 50th Birthday dinner and I was so surprised when I seen the new menus and the new atmosphere and the food was so good and great Big Portions I loved it and that drink called Berry something it was purple it was so good I'm going back just to start with that thank you I had great dinner and I had some problems that night coming to eat dinner with made it all greater again thank you and thank you to my waiter ❤️

As the author of The Grant Colson Thriller Series and Maui Desire Romance Series novels, I’m always on the lookout for a reliable dinner spot, and Black Angus Steakhouse in Chula Vista continues to deliver. This location has been here for as long as I can remember, and it still holds up. It’s one of those places I come back to when I want a calm, dependable experience after a long day. We came in for my father’s birthday, and the staff handled everything well. My parents have mobility challenges, and they set us up with a table in the center of the restaurant so we could easily accommodate a wheelchair. That made a big difference. The food was strong across the board. The Wagon Wheel Sampler is still as good as it was years ago, and my prime rib came out exactly as ordered. Everyone at the table was happy with their meal. Rebecca was absolutely wonderful tonight! She was so attentive and made sure we had everything we needed, without hovering. Her friendly demeanor really made our evening feel special. It's always a pleasure to have her serving us. We’ll definitely be back!
