Three Days: Chula Vista and the Border
Three days lets you treat Chula Vista as a base rather than a stop. You get the bay, the east-side canyons, Imperial Beach and the Silver Strand, and — if you want it — a day in Tijuana that is a twenty-minute drive from your hotel.

Cross the border — or go up the mountain

Park on the US side and walk across. Tijuana's Avenida Revolución, Playas, and the food scene in Zona Río are all within a short ride of the crossing. Bring a passport or passport card — you need it to come back.
