A Weekend in Chula Vista
Two days is enough to see both Chula Vistas — the working waterfront and downtown core on the west side, and the newer canyon-and-lake neighborhoods east of the 805. This plan splits the weekend cleanly so you're never crossing the city twice in a day.
Saturday
West side — bay, downtown, nightlife

Bayfront
Rent or bring a bike and ride the flat shoreline path. It connects south toward Imperial Beach and north toward the Coronado bridge — pick a direction and turn around when you're hungry.

Spend the afternoon on foot. Third Avenue has independent boutiques, record shops, coffee roasters and a cluster of taprooms within a few blocks of each other.

Bayfront → Third Avenue
Drive down for golden hour on the water, then come back for dinner and live music. Weekend nights on Third Avenue are the closest thing the city has to a scene.

Horse properties, the Sweetwater river valley, and an old-California pace that feels a hundred miles from the freeway. A good last impression before you head out.
